Two people were injured during a head-on collision between Landstuhl and Ramstein this morning. A 23-year-old Honda driver was headed towards Ramstein around 9:50 a.m., when he lost control of his vehicle on a straight stretch of road and crashed into a Toyota in the oncoming lane. An 86th Airlift Wing spokeswoman confirmed the accident involved an active-duty U.S. Air Force member and a German citizen but declined to comment on their conditions. Both drivers were transported to nearby hospitals. The Honda driver remains in life-threatening condition, according to a police statement. The roadway remained closed until 2 p.m., causing traffic delays. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, police said.
