Gasoline stations remained open in Italy on Monday, with a threat of a 48-hour strike still looming.

Owners are upset with recent restrictions placed on them on where they can operate. Meetings were scheduled with the Ministry of Economic Development on Monday.

Some Italian media reports speculated that if an agreement is not reached, stations might close next weekend in protest.
