Traffic heading toward Kaiserslautern’s city center on Donnersbergstrasse will be rerouted starting Saturday as a resurfacing project moves into its final phase, city officials said.

The stretch between Mennonitenstrasse and Mannheimer Strasse has been closed to outbound traffic since Monday. As the first phase wraps up, crews will shift work to the inbound lane.

Construction is expected to continue through June 17.

The closure affects a section roughly 2 miles from the A6 and about 1.25 miles from Kleber and Daenner kasernes. Inbound traffic will be detoured via Hilgardring and Mainzer Strasse.
