Several streets in downtown Kaiserslautern will be temporarily closed Thursday for the annual company fun run.
Traffic will be delayed from 4 to 9 p.m., with barricades starting to go up as early as 10 a.m. along Schneiderstrasse and Karl-Marx-Strasse, potentially causing further disruptions until around noon, Westpfalz police said in a statement.
Drivers in the city center should expect detours. Access to and from Augustastrasse and Bismarckstrasse and around Adolph-Kolping-Platz will be restricted or closed starting at 4 p.m.
The entire route will be closed from 5:40 p.m. until after the runners have passed, with efforts to reopen roads as quickly as possible.
Parking in the event area will be limited, but access to the parking garage at Am Altenhof and the facilities on Lutrinastrasse and under Stiftsplatz will remain open.
The event will also affect local public transportation, with some services likely to be disrupted. Commuters are urged to check updates early.
