There’s plenty to do in the KMC this weekend!

The Gartenschau Kaiserslautern will host a medieval market on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to vendors selling scented soaps, wooden swords and more, there will also be musicians to encourage dancing and singing.

On Saturday, you can take a guided tour in English of Kaiserslautern’s Count Palatinate Hall with the subterranean tunnels. The tour starts at 11:15 a.m. at the city’s tourist information center and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. The cost is 7 euros, and registration is required by emailing touristinformation@kaiserslautern.de or calling +49 (0) 631 3654019. Stripes reporter Phillip Walter Wellman took the tour, read his story here.

Also on Saturday, Kaiserslautern is having a free district festival in the city park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include food vendors and musical performances.

It’s not a trap! Fans of the “Star Wars” franchise should head to Armstrong’s Club for the “May the 4th be with you” StrongCon on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Bldg. 1036 in the Vogelweh Housing Area. The event will include trivia, trading-card and table-top games, food trucks, face painting, raffle prizes and a draw-your-own-superhero activity. A flea market-style setup will have vendors selling comics, trading cards, toys, games, art and more. Entry fee is 3 euros for one day, 5 euros for both days, and 15 euros for both days and a T-shirt.
