The trade union Verdi has called for another round of strikes affecting private bus operators in Rheinland-Pfalz from Monday through Sunday.
The strikes, scheduled to begin at 3 a.m. on Monday and end with the shift closure on Sunday, April 21, are expected to cause significant disruptions in bus services across the region, according regional transportation association VRN.
The affected services include school and regular line buses in the VRN area, specifically impacting DB Regio Bus Mitte GmbH operations in the Kaiserslautern North (lines 130 to 137) and Kaiserslautern Southwest (lines 160, 161, 170 to 175, 178) sectors.
“We respect the concerns of the strikers and we are aware that such measures are not taken lightly. In the interests of the passengers, however, we now expect the negotiating parties to finally find a quick and fair solution for all parties involved,” said Michael Winnes, the VRN managing director in a statement Friday.
