All access gates to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center have been closed, according to an internal message sent to clinic staff today.

The medical facility, a critical hub for U.S. military and civilian personnel in Europe, advised staff that the gate closures may result in delays for patients trying to reach their medical appointments.

The brief notice did not provide any details regarding the cause of the sudden closure.

Clinic staff was not immediately available to answer a request for information from Stars and Stripes.
