The ongoing strike by private bus operators in Rheinland-Pfalz, which began Monday, is now set to continue through March 24, the United Services Union ver.di said.

The union and the employers’ associations VAV failed to reach a resolution last week in negotiations about a wage increases and working conditions for drivers.

In Kaiserslautern, lines 130 through 137, 160, 161, 170 through 175, and 178 will be affected by the protest and buses may not run as scheduled, VRN said in a statement.

Local SWK city buses are not affected by the strike, according to the company.

The strike’s extension means continued widespread disruptions across the state, the union said, with significant impacts on intercity travel, commuter traffic and school bus operations.
