Bus services throughout Rheinland-Pfalz face extensive disruptions through March 17, due to a bus drivers’ strike announced by ver.di union, impacting numerous routes across the Kaiserslautern region, according to operator VRN.

Affected Kaiserslautern routes include 160, 161, 170 to 175 and 178, as well as routes 130 to 137, according to the company.

Passengers should be prepared for the possibility of complete service cancelations on all mentioned lines and remain aware that short-notice changes may occur, VRN said in a statement.

SWK city buses are currently not participating in the strike and their buses are operating as scheduled, Nadja Göttel, a spokeswoman for the company told K-town Now per e-mail on Tuesday.

More than 99.12% of union members voted in favor of strike actions over the weekend, resolving to bring several regional bus operations to a halt for seven days.
