Various downtown Kaiserslautern roads face closures for pre-construction surveys ahead of planned sewage system upgrades by the city’s sewage department.

Starting March 13, Späthstrasse, Papiermühlstrasse and Königstrasse will undergo investigative work to prepare for upcoming construction projects, the city government announced.

Späthstrasse will be completely closed between Ortstrasse and the fire station from 8 a.m. until noon on March 13, affecting access to the Westpfalz-Clinic’s P2 parking garage. On the same day, Papiermühlstrasse will see closures from noon to 5 p.m. between Apfelstrasse and Tannenstrasse. Königstrasse is scheduled for a phased closure from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 14 and 15, from Pfaffstrasse to Alnatura.

Businesses will remain accessible, and traffic will be rerouted via Pirmasenser Strasse. Additionally, alternative bus stops will be established to accommodate public transport users affected by the closures, according to the city.
