An accident at the Opel Circle near Rhine Ordnance Barracks on Thursday afternoon injured two people and forced a major road closure. A 23-year-old woman merging onto highway B270 overlooked an approaching Mercedes-Benz Vito and collided with it, police said. Both the woman and the Vito driver, 59, were taken to different area hospitals for examination. Both vehicles were towed and the road was closed for about 45 minutes while the police investigated the accident. Police estimated the damage to be around 10,000 euros ($10,800).
