Rail maintenance work in Kaiserslautern is expected to cause disruptions in regional train services on several routes from early March to late April 2024, Deutsche Bahn said Monday.

Affected routes and alternatives:

Kaiserslautern main station to Alsenz / Bad Kreuznach: From March 4 to April 7 trains on the RB 65 and RE 15 lines operated by DB Regio between Kaiserslautern and Alsenz will be canceled.

Similarly, services on the RE 17 and RE 15 lines by vlexx between Kaiserslautern and Bad Kreuznach will not be available. Travelers are advised to use replacement bus services between Hochspeyer and Enkenbach or the S-Bahn between Kaiserslautern and Hochspeyer as alternatives.

Landstuhl to Kusel: From March 5 to April 29 the RB 67 line will experience partial cancellations between Landstuhl and Kusel, including an omitted stop at Obermohr.

To mitigate the impact on commuters, replacement transport services have been established, Deutsche Bahn said in a statement Monday. Passengers are encouraged to use the designated bus services or the S-Bahn for routes affected by the maintenance work.
