A cyclist was hit by a car and injured while riding in Kaiserslautern on Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement from the Westpfalz Police Department.

The 32-year-old was traveling on Trippstadter Street in the direction of Brandenburger Street around 3:30 p.m. when an oncoming Mercedes hit her while turning into a driveway, according to police.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. The 39-year-old driver is being investigated on suspicion of causing negligent bodily harm, police said.
