ABOARD THE USS KITTY HAWK, April 15, 2002: A flight deck crew member aboard the USS Kitty Hawk carries a device that displays the weight on an aircraft prior to launch. The weight helps the “shooter” determine how much pressure will be needed to launch an aircraft.
