Wiesbaden, Germany, December 1948: Songwriter Irving Berlin, left, talks with an AFN Radio reporter upon his arrival in Wiesbaden to take part in Bob Hope’s “Christmas Caravan” of Hollywood stars. Arriving with Berlin’s group were singer Jinx Falkenburg and six of the Radio City Music Hall’s Rockettes. Berlin made his mark in American Christmas tradition as the composer of “White Christmas,” popularized by Bing Crosby.
