Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Irving Cintron has been putting on Christmas light shows since late November for his neighbors at Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo. It’s a tradition he began nearly 20 years ago during his enlisted days, but this year’s light shows are the final chapter for Cintron at Yokota, as he plans to retire in June.

President Joe Biden honored the service of the men and women of the U.S. military by laying a wreath during a Veterans Day ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday morning.

Using scrub brushes, buckets and hoses transported to the site by a National Park Service truck, the volunteers spent nearly an hour cleaning the memorial in preparation of Veterans Day.
