A Florida congressman has become the second Republican to file articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, accusing him of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

In a statement Friday on his website, Rep. Greg Steube cited four articles related to business dealings of Hunter Biden, the president’s son, and allegations of fraud, obstruction of justice and “financial involvement in drug and prostitution.”

There was no immediate response from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to Steube’s resolution, filed Friday.

House Republicans are considering a formal impeachment inquiry against Biden for an allegations about his son’s business activities, suspecting the elder Biden profited from them when he was vice president.

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, has said he was unaware of misconduct by the president.

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado filed articles of impeachment against Biden in June for his border policy.

Some Republicans from swing districts appear reluctant to press a formal impeachment inquiry at this time.
