(Tribune News Service) — Screeching jets and military demonstrations are what amazed crowds were treated to on sandy beaches during the first day of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show on Saturday.

The Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy and Red Bull pulled out all the stops as they showcased modern to legacy planes over Fort Lauderdale beach.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels in their screaming Super Hornets headlined the two-day annual event, which will continue Sunday for its final day.

Crowds grasping binoculars with huge grins were also able to see F-22 Raptor, F-35C Lightning II, F-16 Vipers and more.
