The foundry brings together all allied trade specialists in the division to work in one shop. They take suggestions, design, fabricate with the latest technology and weld to keep vehicles running — particularly when parts are unavailable or no longer exist.

The LGM-35A Sentinel will replace the Cold War-era LGM-30G Minuteman III. The nearly $141 billion program is expected to stretch into the second half of the 21st century.

The barracks cost about $87 million. A traditional build of similar size would have been five times that amount, according to the Army.

Each project is estimated to cost about $2 billion. The companies would be responsible for financing the projects, and taxpayers would not see an upfront cost to their development, Army officials said.

The Army designation of an operational hypersonic missile battery would be a major step for the $12 billion Dark Eagle program, which has faced development and testing delays. 

The OPV Black Hawk can be flown by pilots in the cockpit or by troops on the ground. It will soon enter a testing program to determine if the Army can integrate the aircraft into its inventory.

More than 100 3D-printed antenna masts have been produced since Lance Cpl. Eirick Schule developed the design, saving more than $600,000 and over 60 years in cumulative wait time, the Marine Corps said.

The VA has plans to deploy a “data collection tool,” which is under development, to look for patterns of fraud in prior DBQs. The information will be used only to inform decision-making in detecting problems going forward.
