STUTTGART, Germany — Dylan Measells and Grant Trochesset picked up the victories Saturday as the European Division I champion Patch Panthers ran their season record to 4-0 with 19-1 and 17-1 victories over Ansbach.

Measelles (2-0), a returning All-European, allowed his first hit of the season in the opener before giving way after 31/3 innings to reliever Ryan Tannenbaum, according to coach Drake Marbury.

Patch’s big bats backed both pitchers. Tannenbaum and Justin Quimby each hit grand slams, and Austin LeMay clubbed a two-run homer. C.J. Kellog went 3-for-4, one of them a double.

Trochesset pitched two no-hit innings to win the nightcap, backed by a 3-for-3 efforts by Quimby and Measells, who doubled. Jack Smith went 2-for-3 for Patch.

Ansbach, 0-4 in Eastern Region play, is to play its third straight D-I opponent, Vilseck, on the road Saturday. Patch is scheduled to be idle until an April 23 home doubleheader against unbeaten Heidelberg.
