The girls from Mannheim and Patch snared regional soccer titles on Saturday’s final day of the 2008 regular season.
Mannheim was a 3-0 winner over Black Forest Academy, last season’s European D-II runner-up, for the Region III crown. Patch edged last year’s D-II champion, Vilseck ,4-3 for the Region IV title.
All four teams are likely to have another crack at one another during this week’s European Division II tournament, scheduled to be played Wednesday through Saturday in the Kaiserslautern military community.
The Marymount Royals also grabbed a girls crown on Saturday by dominating crosstown rival American Overseas School of Rome 4-0 to win the American Schools in Italy championship.
Mannheim 3, BFA 0: On Saturday at Mannheim, Tayiesha Jackson scored twice as the Lady Bison (7-0-0 overall, 5-0-0 in the region) broke open a scoreless game in the second half. Mannheim, according to assistant coach Martin Goring, got its other goal on Anna Cressler’s 20-yard free kick just under the crossbar. Black Forest Academy finished the regular season 3-4-0, 3-2-0.
Patch 4, Vilseck 3: On Saturday at Vilseck, Patch took a 4-0 lead behind two goals by Zoe Call and one each by Heidi Heber and Andy Marchant and held on in the face of Vilseck’s three-goal second half.
Heber had two assists and Marchant and Call one each for the Lady Panthers (5-1-0 overall, 4-0-0 region). Vilseck (4-2-0, 3-1-0) had defeated Patch 3-2 on the road April 26 in a game designated non-regional.
Marymount 4, AOSR 0: On Saturday at Marymount International School of Rome, the Cararrini sisters, Elena and Rebecca, accounted for three goals and an assist. Rebecca had the two goals, Elena a goal and an assist.
Martina Diana added a goal and two assists for Marymount (5-0-1).
The Royals (5-0-1) and AOSR (4-2-0) will compete in the European D-III tournament.

Kaiserslautern 5, AFNORTH 2: On Saturday at Brunssum, Netherlands, Liana Knight and Ariana Eoff each scored twice as the Lady Raiders, who clinched the Region II crown the previous week with a 5-0 conquest of defending European D-I champion Ramstein, completed an unbeaten season.
Kat Moss also scored for Kaiserslautern (5-0-3, 5-0-0), which will open play Wednesday as the D-I co-favorite with ISB, unbeaten going into Friday’s game against visiting Brussels. Kylee Wilstead posted a goal and an assist for AFNORTH (3-3-0, 2-3-0), which opens play Thursday in the European D-III tournament.
Hanau 2, Würzburg 2: On Saturday in the final regular-season game of any kind for each school, visiting Hanau pulled out atie behind two goals by Natasha Hall. Both goals, one in each half, were assisted by Kathlene Ayala.
Würzburg countered with a first-half goal from Isha Sumah and one after intermission by Katrina Barrios.
"I am very proud to say that this being our last game in Würzburg, it will forever be one of the best games played on our field," Lady Wolves sponsor Lori LeBouef wrote in an E-mail report of the game. Both schools will close at the end of the school year.
Hanau (2-4-1) will participate in the European D-IV tournament; Würzburg (2-3-1) will play in the D-III tourney.
Hohenfels 5, Ansbach 2: On Saturday at Hohenfels, Loisann DeLass scored twice and Sunny Petery added a goal and an assist as the Tigers (4-3-0) beat winless Ansbach.
SHAPE 7, Alconbury 0: On Friday at RAF Alconbury, England, the Lady Spartans, behind two goals each by Kassandra Comeau and Emily Brown, upped their winning streak to six games with the Region I romp.
SHAPE (6-1-0), which lost 5-0 to International School of Brussels to open the season, will participate in this week’s hyper-competitive D-II tournament. Alconbury, which finished its regular season 0-6-0 after Saturday’s loss to visiting Menwith Hill, will try its luck in the D-IV tourney.
Aviano 3, Sigonella 1: On Saturday at Sigonella, Italy, Sasia Salter-Mack, Brittany Patrick and Emily Cartwright provided the goals in an ASIL match-up. In the Europeans, Sigonella (1-4-1) will play in the D-IV tourney, Aviano (4-2-0) in the D-II event.
