ROME—The American Overseas School of Rome girls rode the scoring of Martina Mannozzi to 51-36 and 41-22 victories Friday and Saturday over the visiting Sigonella Jaguars.Mannozzi, who with brother Lorenzo forms the most potent family scoring act this side of Wiesbaden sisters LeAmber and LeAndra Thomas, accounted for 24 points on Friday and 14 more on Saturday to help the Falcons up their overall and Region IV marks to 5-3. Next up for AOSR is a visit this weekend from the formidable Milan Lady Panthers, who’ll be smarting from two losses the past weekend inflicted by the unbeaten visiting Aviano Lady Saints.Sigonella, which got a double-double – 11 points and 13 rebounds – from freshman Tenia Strobridge on Saturday, is idle this week. The Lady Jags will take a 2-8 mark into their regular-season finale Feb. 11-12 in Naples before moving on to the European Division III tournament Feb. 23-26 in Mannheim.
