Ramstein bounced back from a tough, late loss to its archrival with a 35-6 victory over Vilseck at home on Friday evening.

The win improved the Royals to 2-1, while the Falcons dropped to 1-2.

Things didn’t start off great for the Royals, as they fumbled the opening kickoff. Vilseck recovered and scored on an 8-yard run by Junior DeJesus.

Ramstein responded in the best-way possible, with sophomore Shaun Young scampering 92 yards on the ensuing kickoff for a score to give the Royals a 7-6 lead. They didn’t relinquish it, scoring 35 unanswered points to finish the game.

Senior running backs Landon Torroll and Jackson Arthaud found paydirt on runs of 2 and 19 yards in the second quarter to give the Royals a 15-point lead at the break. On the other side, senior John Thompson took over, scoring from 33 and 4 yards out.

Thompson, a Fort Walton Beach, Fla., native, led the way with 83 yards on 15 rushes. Arthaud added another 75 yards on 13 attempts, Torroll recorded 37 yards on six runs and junior Nate Rutlege had 42 yards on eight carries.

Lakenheath 21, Stuttgart 10: The Lancers jumped out to a 14-point lead and never looked back in a victory over the Panthers on Friday evening.

Lakenheath (3-0) had a perfect start. Brian Miles returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a score, and then quarterback Nico Marchini followed that up with a 64-yard scamper for a touchdown.

Marchini added another score in the second period, finding receiver Miles for a 12-yard pitch and catch. That gave the Lancers a 21-3 halftime lead.

Marchini did it all for the Lancers again, running for 101 yards on eight carries and going 7 of 17 for 130 yards in the air. Running back Lucius Bowman totaled 42 yards on 15 carries, Vincent LaStarza produced 47 yards on six carries and Miles grabbed four receptions for 62 yards.

On defense, defensive tackle Ethan Jenkins made nine tackles, while linebacker Lucius Bowman made eight and recovered a fumble. Miles added an interception to his already stellar performance, and LaStarza added six tackles.

For Stuttgart (1-2), Itzak Sandoval made a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter. Running Cameron McQueen also punched in a 1-yard score in the fourth.
