Donald Bryant ran for 437 yards and eight touchdowns Saturday as the visiting Würzburg Wolves opened their Division II-South campaign with an 80-48 victory over Vicenza.

Bryant carried the ball 32 times in a game that saw the Wolves roll up 620 rushing yards, and B.J. Harvey carried nine times for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Würzburg improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in II-South.

Jereil McNealy led Vicenza (0-2, 0-2) with 163 yards on 26 carries. He scored twice in this game between II-South newcomers. Würzburg dropped down from D-I this season; Vicenza moved up from D-III.

Vicenza’s Xavier Taylor made five catches, three of them for TDs, good for 163 of the 215 passing yards quarterback Cory Garrett racked up.

Vicenza trailed 36-28 at halftime, but could not keep up with the Wolves’ ground game in the second half.

In other Division II games Saturday:

Aviano 9, Vilseck 0: At Aviano, Italy, Gary Vogt hit Jon Anderson with an 8-yard TD pass, and Dante Rankin and Kyle Hernandez combined on a third-quarter safety to move the Saints to 2-0 overall and in II-South.

Ivan Tibbs and Kammeron Smart combined for 117 of Aviano’s 135 rushing yards, but the day belonged to the defense, which recovered two fumbles and intercepted two Vilseck passes. Tibbs made the more important pick, stopping Vilseck’s final drive. Andre Dean swiped the other.

Rankin had two sacks for Aviano, which got blocked passes from Justin Hoppe and James Weaver and nine tackles from Brad Karlolchyk.

For the game, the Saints held their guests to 30 rushing yards on 15 attempts and 31 passing yards.

Chris Watson and Robert Wright led Vilseck (0-2, 0-2) with eight tackles each. Dexter Johnson made a touchdown-saving interception.

Baumholder 43, SHAPE 7: At Baumholder, Rashad Taylor ran for 174 yards and scored four touchdowns despite seeing just spot duty in the second half.

Taylor scored on runs of 10, 1 and 22 yards as Baumholder (2-0 overall and in II-North), took 22-0 lead into halftime. He added his fourth TD on an 18-yard burst in the final period.

T.J. Gray, on a 3-yard run, and Demarcus Hagewood on a 4-yarder, collected the other scores for Baumholder.

SHAPE (0-2, 0-1) scored midway through the third period on a 65-yard pass play from David Novak to Michael Clampett. Novak completed six of nine passes for 105 yards and an interception.

Bitburg 34, ISB 0: At International School of Brussels, Anton Harris rushed 21 times for 280 yards and three touchdowns as the Barons improved to 2-0 overall and in II-North.

Quarterback Josh Collett ran 4 yards and Chris Ramos 1 for Bitburg’s other touchdowns.

John Webb led ISB (0-2 overall and in II-North) with 12 tackles and an interception.

Naples 36, Mannheim 0: At Mannheim, home-team running back Tony Spindler collected 121 yards on 23 carries in a game for which no other details were available at presstime Saturday night. Mannheim is 0-2, 0-1; Naples improved to 2-0, 1-0.
