Division I

NILE C. KINNICK RED DEVILS

2022-23 season record — 12-8 overall; fifth place in Far East Division I Tournament.

Head coach — Robert Stovall, 12th season.

Key performers — Xavier Wright, Sr., G; Vance Lewis, Sr., G; Kennedy Hamilton, Sr., F; Nicholas Whyte, Jr., F (returning from ACL injury); Samuel Montgomery, Jr., F; Andres Rizo, So., F; Gregor Tolar, Jr.; Jaelin White, Jr.; Javier Arroyo, Jr.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Red Devils don’t have much height, but they have quickness and good basic skills.

Division II

E.J. KING COBRAS

2022-23 season record — 14-7 overall; third in Far East Division II Tournament.

Head coach — Travis Elliott, fifth season.

Key performers — Nolan FitzGerald, Sr., F; Jeremy Phillips, Jr., G; Sean Casimiro, Sr., G; Sean Bautista, Jr., F; Nolan Grubb, Fr.; Kenji Wooten, So.

Outlook — Reloading. They bring four of five starters back, plus infusion of young talents in Grubb and Wooten. Losing Cameron Reinhart to graduation was a huge loss.

ROBERT D. EDGREN EAGLES

2022-23 season record — 1-13 overall; sixth in Far East D-II.

Head coach — Marcus Thomas, first season.

Key performers — Micah Magat, Jr., G; Caleb Kennedy, Jr., G; Gio Espiritu, So., F; Jayce Ulechong, Jr. F.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. One good aspect is the number of boys who tried out – 28, which means the Eagles can fill out a junior varsity team, too.

MATTHEW C. PERRY SAMURAI

2022-23 season record — 9-12 overall; eighth in Far East D-II.

Head coach — Daniel Burns, third season.

Key performers — Ronald Billy Hill, Sr., F-G; Jahiion Francois, So., G; Daniel Rodriguez, Sr., C (transferred from North Carolina); Sam Kasperski, Jr.

Outlook — Reloading. Samurai return their starting core, but are lacking depth at this point.

YOKOTA PANTHERS

2022-23 season record — 17-2 overall, Far East D-II champion.

Head coach — Dan Galvin, seventh season.

Key performers — Royce Canta, Sr., G; Jai Bailey, Jr., F; Braedan Raybon, Sr., F; Sergio Giddens, Sr.

Outlook — Reloading-contending. While a boatload of seniors have graduated, Galvin returns after saying he was retiring, and some players move up from the JV to keep some continuity. Not much height, but plenty of quickness and shooting.

ZAMA TROJANS

2022-23 season record — 10-8 overall.

Head coach — Shawen Smith, second season.

Key performers — Keahnu Araki, Sr., F; Kosey Hameen, Jr., F; Aydan Helton, So., G; Greg Horton, Sr., F; Tim Armstrong, Sr., F; Kekua “Rhino” Aumua, So., F; Casey Stewart, So., SG; Josh Norris, Sr., G-F (transferred from Perry); Derek Smith, Fr., F.

Outlook — Reloading-contending. Strong group of returners, good height, good collection of guards. Should be in the hunt for D-II title if they stay healthy and work on fundamentals.
