PYEONGTAEK, South Korea – A soldier who offered to massage a female friend then touched her genitals when she fell asleep was sentenced to jail and a discharge Monday at Camp Humphreys.
Pfc. Michael A. Jordan, 19, was sentenced to a year in jail and a bad conduct discharge by military judge Col. Donna M. Wright.
Jordan will serve six months under a pretrial agreement.
Jordan, a Black Hawk helicopter mechanic with Company D, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, had pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault and wrongful sexual contact in the Jan. 17 incident. He was stationed at Seoul Air Base, also known as K-16.
According to prosecutor Capt. Graham Smith, Jordan and the married woman had a platonic relationship. The night of the incident she was sitting on Jordan’s bed so she could use her laptop computer, and soon complained of back pain.
She agreed to Jordan’s offer of a massage, and then fell asleep after prescription medication she had taken made her drowsy, Smith said.
She awoke the next morning to find that all but her panties had been removed, and reported it to her unit.
Jordan was to be taken to the Camp Humphreys jail Monday afternoon.
