A graphic on the stripes.com homepage yesterday did not note specifics of the photos that accompanied a story about U.S.-South Korean relations. The caption should have stated:
Left: South Koreans protesting the expansion of a U.S. military base fight with riot police at Pyeongtaek, south of Seoul, in 2006. Right: South Korean military veterans chant their support of the U.S. military in South Korea outside Osan Air Base in 2005, reflecting what experts consider an age divide in how South Koreans view America’s military presence.
In the left photo, the protest was aimed at the South Korean government’s role in the expansion.
