Col. Michael R. Boera, 36th Wing commander at Andersen Air Force Base on Guam, is to become commander of Pacific Air Forces’ Air Operations Center at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

He and his wife, Carrie, will depart Guam in late October, according to an Andersen news release Friday. A successor has not yet been named.

Boera served as the base’s wing commander for 15 months as it increased operations to support the deployment of five expeditionary bomber and fighter squadron rotations.

He previously served as the operations group commander for the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
