The Navy is seeking the public’s help in tracking down a number of people who allegedly assaulted six sailors in Guam on Nov. 16.
The sailors were approached and assaulted by a large group of assailants carrying bats, clubs and pipes, according to a statement Thursday by Commander, Joint Region Marianas. The alleged assault occurred near the Acanta Mall in Tumon.
The sailors were taken to U.S. Naval Hospital Guam, where they were treated for various lacerations and injuries, the statement said. They were later released to their commands.
A Joint Region Marianas spokeswoman could not be reached for comment Friday. Civilian police officials from the Tamuning-Tumon Precinct declined to comment.
