The rock group Queensryche will perform live on the flight deck of the USS Mount Whitney on Saturday as part of its "American Soldier" tour, sponsored by the United Services Organizations.
The band created an album based on the true stories of troops and examines war from soldiers’ perspectives, according to its Web site, www.queensryche.com.
The USS Mount Whitney, based in Gaeta, Italy, will be in Kiel, Germany, after completing the Baltic Operations Exercise.
Queensryche’s "American Soldier" tour includes performances in Stuttgart, Berlin, Hannover and Düsseldorf. The group also will perform in Milan, Italy, on June 27.
