CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Due to an end-of-year inventory, this weekend’s flea market on Camp Courtney has been canceled. The next flea market on Okinawa Marine bases is scheduled for Feb. 7-8 from noon to 3 p.m. on Camp Foster, according to a release. For more information, call DSN 645-5829.

Post offices to close earlyCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — All Marine Corps post offices on Okinawa will close at noon Thursday for training.

However, to assist customers, the retail services sections will open at 8 a.m., according to a release. The mailbox sections will remain open as usual and customers will still have 24-hour access to their mailboxes. Normal hours of operation will resume Friday. Postal services will be available Thursday at the U.S. Naval Hospital and Kadena Air Base.

Flu shots available SaturdayCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Free flu shots will be available Saturday at the entrance to the Army and Air Force Exchange Service store on Camp Foster.

The vaccine will be administered by representatives from the U.S. Naval Hospital from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call DSN 643-7622.

Boot camp registrationCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Camp Foster Young Marines program is holding a registration from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Building 5710 on Camp Foster for their 1-09 Bootcamp. Young Marines is a Marine Corps-sponsored program for 8-year-olds to high schoolers. The boot camp is slated to start Feb. 7.

Baby sitter training availableCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Camp Foster Red Cross is scheduled to hold a baby sitter training course at the Foster Red Cross office 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, according to a release. The course is intended for those 11 or older. Both sessions must be attended. The sessions will provide training in infant and child CPR. For more information, call DSN 645-3800.
