A U.S. sailor who died in a Christmas Day incident in Bahrain has been identified by the Pentagon.

Seaman Apprentice Joshua D. Seitz, 19, of Pensacola, Fla., was assigned to Naval Security Force, Naval Support Activity Bahrain.

The Navy said the cause of death is under investigation, but the Gulf Daily News — a local English-language daily newspaper — reported that Seitz died of injuries suffered in a boating accident while on duty.

According to the paper, the patrol boat Seitz was aboard struck a barge moored in the Mina Salman port. The patrol boat was reportedly headed to the pier when it struck the barge.
