A Dec. 21 story based on an interview with Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey should have stated that the Army expects to deploy troops without reliance on stop-loss by the end of fiscal 2011. The story also should have stated that, given an increase in troop strength and if demand holds steady, the Army hopes to be able to allow soldiers almost 18 months of dwell time in 2009, and almost two years of dwell time by the end of fiscal 2011.
A Dec. 21 story about the Stork’s Nest on Okinawa should have stated that board member Annette Schaefer said "the nicer the surroundings are, the nicer it is for them to transition."
