CAMP CASEY, South Korea — Soldiers from the 302nd Brigade Support Battalion gathered Friday to honor a fallen comrade.
Staff Sgt. Ricky Fox was discovered dead in his barracks room on Aug. 10, and his death remains under investigation.
“Iron Horse, we are here because we have lost one of our own,” said battalion commander Lt. Col. Brent Bolander. “A fellow comrade has fallen and we are unable to pick him up and place him back in our formation.”
Fox’s company commander, Capt. Mariwin Brasco, described the soldier as dedicated.
“Staff Sgt. Fox, you are under a different command now, one that knows no rank, only love. Knows no danger, only peace. May God bless you,” she said. “Farewell sergeant, you are one of the best.”
Following the ceremony, battalion members filed past a display featuring a helmet, boots, rifle and dog tags.
