ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — One airman was injured and another reported missing Saturday in the waters off Tarague Beach, Guam.

At approximately 11:15 a.m., according to an Air Force statement, Andersen emergency teams began searching for the missing airman, who had been swimming, and treating the injured airman, who was transported by ambulance to Navy Hospital.

Members of the 36th Civil Engineer fire rescue team and the Navy’s Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Five were involved in the search, according to the Air Force statement.

The initial Air Force statement disclosed neither the airmen’s identities nor how the incident occured but said more information will be provided as it becomes available.
