An airman assigned to the 36th Expeditionary Operations Group at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam was rescued Sunday after falling 10 to 15 feet while hiking, according to a statement released by the Air Force on Monday.
The airman, who declined to be named, fell Sunday near Tarague Beach while hiking with three other people, according to the Andersen public affairs office.
The airman was airlifted by Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 to U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and was in stable condition Monday. Andersen fire and rescue teams also helped in the accident response.

Yongsan Garrison’s gas station closing for two daysYongsan Garrison’s gas station will be closed Feb. 6 and 7 for renovations, Army and Air Force Exchange Service officials said Monday.
Since late December, workers have been renovating the station to include credit card machines at each pump, according to a press release.
AAFES chose the dates because traffic is typically low on Tuesday and Wednesdays, officials said.
Work will begin after the station closes Feb. 5. The renovations should finish by late February, officials said.
