CAMP HANSEN , Okinawa — A Camp Hansen-based general has been nominated for a second star, according to a Department of Defense release Thursday.

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates’ announcement of President Bush’s nominations for appointment to major general included Brig. Gen. Mastin M. Robeson, commander of 3rd Marine Division. Robeson took the division’s reins in January 2006, according to a Marine release.

Robeson, commissioned in 1975, has served in Liberia , Operation Desert Storm, Somalia , Bosnia and Operation Enduring Freedom, according to a Headquarters Marine Corps biography.
