¶ In a Jan. 3 story about a U.S. Military Transition Team based at Al Rasheed Iraqi army base, Lt. Col. Matthew Stanton’s name was misspelled.

¶ Because of erroneous information provided by the Pentagon, a Jan. 2 story about a Germany-based soldier killed in Iraq was incorrect. Sgt. Lawrance J. Carter’s name was misspelled. Furthermore, Carter, 25, was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, under control of 1st Armored Division.
