BURY ST. EDMUNDS — Local police are looking for a young man who bit another man who had intervened in an altercation between the suspect and the victim’s friend outside of a popular nightclub several months ago.

The suspect was arguing with a male near Extreme on St. Andrews Street on April 8 in this Suffolk town when the 21-year-old victim tried to break up the fight but was assaulted himself, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.

“The unknown male tackled him to the ground and proceeded to bite the victim in the cheek leaving a nasty wound that required hospital treatment,” the release stated.

“This is a particularly nasty incident that happened on a busy street but so far we have had a limited response from our appeals for information,” detective constable Paul Hickman said in the release.

Motorist assaulted during road rage incidentHUNTINGDON — Cambridgeshire authorities are appealing for the public’s help in apprehending a teenager accused of assaulting a 61-year-old man during a road rage incident last week.

The victim, whom authorities did not name, was driving to work on the A141 when he noticed a green Honda Civic tailgating him, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release. As the victim slowed, the suspect sped by him and made hand gestures, the release stated.

The Honda then stopped in front of the victim, forcing him to stop. The two drivers got out of their vehicles and had a verbal exchange before the teenager kicked the man in the thigh and fled, the release stated.

The suspect is described as being in his early teens and about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a slim build and short, fair hair.

Man accused of passing counterfeit cash in SudburySUDBURY — Police are looking for a man in his mid-20s suspected of passing several counterfeit 20-pound notes at businesses in this Suffolk village.

The suspect, described as a white male about 5 feet, 10 inches with a stocky build and a European accent, used the fake bills at a KFC restaurant, a Powerhouse, Pet at Home and at the Black Boy Public House in Market Hill, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.

In each instance, the suspect bought something cheap in order to get change in real money, authorities said.

The incidents all occurred within a four-hour period on June 30, according to the Suffolk Constabulary.

Arrest made in drug bust that netted marijuana, equipmentNORWICH — Norfolk authorities conducted a drug bust last week that netted several thousand pounds of marijuana and seized a sophisticated hydroponics cultivation apparatus.

Constables arrested a 40-year-old man and charged him with growing cannabis at the industrial complex in Stratton Strawless, according to a Norfolk Constabulary news release. Authorities did not identify the suspect.

The arrest is the third in the last two years made by the Norfolk Constabulary related to the growing of marijuana.
