CAMBRIDGESHIRE — The Cambridge Constabulary’s summer drunken driving awareness campaign netted 155 arrests in 37 days, according to a police department release.

The campaign, which ended July 10, saw one in seven people fail a breath test. Twenty-five percent of those tests were administered at the scene of a collision, according to the police.

Land Rover stolen in MildenhallMILDENHALL — Police are on the hunt for a green Land Rover Discovery stolen from Clare Close on July 11.

According to a police release, a thief removed the rubber weather strip from around a window to gain access and made off with the vehicle. The vehicle, with license plate number J985 SVU, was taken sometime between 10 p.m. and 11:10 p.m.

Anyone who witnessed the crime or has information on the whereabouts of the Discovery is asked to call police at 01284-774-100.

Rugby club’s alcohol collection stolenTHURSTON — Police are looking for culprits in the theft of cases of alcohol worth approximately 170 pounds from the rugby club in Thurston, just east of Bury St. Edmunds, according to a report from the Suffolk County Constabulary.

The thieves struck July 5 and July 11, when they forced open two sets of doors causing 250 pounds of damage.

Home, sheds burgled; motorcycle stolenCULFORD — Two properties and three sheds were broken into and a motorcycle stolen the night of July 6-7 in a rash of incidents in the town of Culford, according to a release from Suffolk police.

In the first incident, an offender forced a window open in a home on West Row Road, stealing a wallet containing cash, then broke into an adjacent shed and stole a yellow Suzuki DRZ400, the report reads. On the same night, three more sheds in the area were broken into, causing about 30 pounds in damage, though nothing was taken from them.

Police are now looking for information on all the incidents, and members of the public are asked to call Police Constable David Spence at 01284-774-100.

Nightime robberies apparently target carsNEWMARKET — Goods worth more than 1,500 pounds were stolen and 500 pounds of damage caused in a trio of car break-ins and thefts in Newmarket the night of July 6-7, Suffolk police reported last week.

In the most significant, the door of a silver Peugeot 206 was bent back and thieves stole about 1,500 pounds worth of horse riding gear and accessories, plus sunglasses and car stereo equipment and a mini vacuum cleaner on Stanley Road, police said.
