BAMBERG, Germany — A memorial service in honor of a fallen 54th Engineer Battalion soldier will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Warner Barracks Chapel.

Sgt. Alkaila Floyd died Thursday of injuries he sustained during a roadside bomb attack in Ramadi, Iraq, on July 8.

The same attack took the lives of three of his fellow engineers, Staff Sgt. Omar Flores, Spc. Troy Linden and Spc. Joseph Micks, who were remembered in a service last Wednesday.

Floyd’s death is the fifth the 54th has suffered during their present deployment. They are scheduled to return to Germany sometime before November.
