DUXFORD, England — The Flying Legends Air Show will take place this weekend at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, 8 miles south of Cambridge at the M11 and A505 junction.
The show, set for Saturday and Sunday, will feature propeller-driven combat aircraft from both world wars. Classic American and European fighters will take to the sky on both days in choreographed flying sequences, according to the museum’s Web site.
Six veterans from the 1942 Doolittle Toyko raid, the first air raid by the U.S. on Japanese home islands during World War II, also will be present during the show. The raid was portrayed in the 2001 movie “Pearl Harbor.”
World-renowned artist John Shaw will be at the show as well, displaying his air combat art collection.
Tickets cost adults 30 pounds the day of the show and children from five to 15 years old, 10 pounds. Children five and under are free.
Gates open at 8 a.m. and the flying will start at 2 p.m. on both days.
