Members of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team spent time interacting with Iraqis in Tikrit on Wednesday, helping an a woman with her bad hip and talking to Tikrit city officials about the eventual reduction of U.S. troops in the area.
Sgt. Ronnie Cothren, a psychological operations soldier, hands out stuffed animals and coloring books to children in Tikrit. “I try to show the kids a picture of my daughter. Normally they’re not as shy after,” Cothren said.
