The USS Frank Cable will open the doors to its newly renovated galley, “Club Mocambo,” at 10 a.m. Monday.
The $1.72 million project took three months to complete while the Cable crew worked with vendors to install local art celebrating Guam’s heritage and culture. Vendors and contractors also contributed to a new aquarium and food refrigeration system.
The ship, the Pacific Fleet’s only submarine tender, deploys throughout the Western Pacific to ports in South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan to provide services to both submarines and surface ships in the Seventh Fleet.
