YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Area II’s Support Activity is using a new Web address, one officials say they hope will be easier to remember.

According to an Area II news release, the new address is http://area2.korea.army.mil. The Web site still can be found at its old address: http://ima.korea.army.mil/area2

Rick Nurick, Area II Web master, said the change was “basically a marketing decision.”

The site is updated often with Area II news, according to the release, and during special situations, like inclement weather, which may be updated hourly.

Chinhae Seabees celebrate birthdaySEOUL — U.S. Navy Seabees in South Korea gathered at Chinhae Naval Base on March 4 to celebrate their 64th birthday, according to a Navy news release.

Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4, Detachment Chinhae, hosted the event with assistance from the Public Works Office; Morale, Welfare and Recreation; and the galley.

Chinhae hosts the party each year for the handful of Seabees living at the base — but this year was special, according to the release, because Seabees deployed to South Korea in support of Navy and Marine Corps construction projects joined the celebration.

Shelly Lares tour to skip Camp FujiArmed Forces Entertainment has announced a venue change for the Shelly Lares Band, which is on a tour of U.S. military installations in Japan.

The country group will not appear at Camp Fuji. Instead it will play Tuesday in the Camp Zama Community Club’s Firelight Lounge, officials said. The free concert, open to all ranks, is to begin at 8 p.m.
