CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea — The 2nd Infantry Division soldier who died March 1 in Dongducheon has been identified as Sgt. Tilford Barton.

Barton, 38, who was stationed at Camp Casey, was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment.

He is survived by his wife and four children who reside in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Officials haven’t released details concerning Barton’s cause of death, citing privacy concerns and an ongoing investigation.

A memorial service was planned for Barton at the West Casey Chapel on Thursday.

Japanese television drama seeks extrasSASEBO NAVAL BASE, Japan — Extras are needed for the Japanese television drama “Fugou” (Wealthy Detective) while the show is filmed at the Dutch theme park Huis Ten Bosch, said show representative Hiroko Iizuka on Wednesday.

From 9 p.m. to midnight Sunday, two Asian or black males and two Asian or black females are needed. From 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, one Caucasian male, three Asian or black males and four Asian or black females are needed. From 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, two Caucasian males, three Asian or black males and four Asian or black females are needed.

Navy College wants youYOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — Presentations on “Troops to Teachers” and the new “Spouses to Teachers” programs will be delivered at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the Fleet Theater at Yokosuka Naval Base. Embassy help session in BusanSEOUL — U.S. Embassy officials will be in Busan for two days in April to help Americans apply for passports or get additional visa pages in current passports, consular reports of birth abroad and social security cards.

The officials will be at the Busan Marriott Hotel from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. April 6-7. They’ll also offer notary public services and information on voting and federal benefits. All services must be paid for in cash, with dollars or won.
