RAF MILDENHALL, England — A 30-year-old Air Force captain is under investigation for drunken driving after she allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run accident Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary apprehended the woman Saturday evening at her home after she tested positive on an alcohol-breath test, according to British authorities and a 100th Security Forces report. Police would not release her blood-alcohol level.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary declined to release the officer’s identity because she has not been charged with a crime. The 100th Public Affairs Office also declined to release her name.

The Security Forces report listed the captain as a member of the 100th Maintenance Operations Squadron. The report also stated that her driving privileges were yanked immediately after the incident.

The incident began about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when a resident of High Street in Cheveley, which is outside of Newmarket, alerted the police that someone had crashed a BMW into a parked car in their driveway and then fled the scene.

The victim passed the license plate number to the Cambridgeshire Constabulary, which tracked the suspect down at her home. Police transported her to the police station, where she took a second blood-alcohol test. The results of that test also were not released.

Police are still investigating the accident, a constabulary spokeswoman said.

The captain is not expected to face military discipline.

"We don’t have jurisdiction over the case so it will likely not result in court-martial or charges filed on base," Capt. Evelyn R. Frasure, chief, international and operations law officer at the 100th Judge Advocates office at Mildenhall, wrote in an e-mail to Stars and Stripes.

The suspect was released on her own recognizance, a constabulary spokeswoman said. The Air Force officer is scheduled to appear back at the Cambridge police station on May 10.
