FRANKFURT — Harlem’s Globetrotters presented their show of basketball magic and comedy to 10,000 German and American n fans at the Festhalle here last night, as they defeated the Boston Whirlwinds., 56-42.

Making their first of two appearances here, the clown princes of basketball built up an early lead and then cut loose with their zany play which included dizzy dribbling by guard Marques Haynes and trick ball-handling by Reese (Goose) Tatum , 6-foot 4-inch center.

In a preliminary game, a Frankfurt Military Post team defeated the German All Stars, 54-32.

Halftime entertainment during the two contests consisted of a table-tennis exhibition between Marty Reismann, world table-tennis champion, and Doug Cartland, and an accordion solo by Tony Lavelli, Whirlwind star and former All America at Yale University.

Jesse Owens, ex-Olympic sprinter, also described action at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

The Globetrotters present another exhibition contest in Wiesbaden Thursday night and then end their 10-day EC tour with a contest in Bremen, Sunday.
