German officials have scheduled a nationwide test of emergency alert systems on Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Expect sirens, text messages, app notifications and other interruptions.
The annual test, held every second Thursday in September, is a joint effort by federal, state and local governments designed to check system reliability and practice emergency procedures.
