The Red Devils travel west on autobahn A6 tomorrow for a 6:30 p.m. sold-out game against neighboring SV Elversberg.

The team from the Saarland was the surprise side last season, finishing third in its second year in the second division. It lost the relegation playoffs to first division Heidenheim to remain in Bundesliga 2 this season.

Both teams started out this season with a win and a loss. The Red Devils are in 11th place in the second division table, two slots above SVE because of the better goal difference.

Kaiserslautern lost in Elversberg last season 1-0, with the teams tying 1-1 on the Betzenberg.

Expect coach Torsten Lieberknecht to go with the same starters as in the last two games as he looks for some consistency in his team’s play.

Despite the seven goals against a fifth division team in cup play, Kaiserslautern has not scored a goal out of a play in league competition. The lone goal so far this season was a converted penalty.

About 2,500 fans will be in Elversberg to support the Red Devils, who return home to Fritz Walter Stadium on Aug. 31, for a match against SV Darmstadt 98.
